Jim Hoskins in Utah forwarded your request for information on the subject HB
Wilson on to me. I have researched the Jane Hoskinson Wilson family to some
extent in the past. H.B and Jane were married in Monong.Co. Va. in abo
1790. H.B. died in June of 1814 in Monong.Co. She was the daught. of Azariah
Thomas and Mary (Unk) Hoskinson of Monong. Co.Va. There is considerable
court data about H.B. & Jane in Morgantown. There are Estate and land
records in Morgantown that lists the Wilson children, George being o
them, his birthdate is 1797 in Monong.Co. He married Jane Snider ((daugh. of
Geo.)4 Sept. 1823 in Monong.Co. (By Rev.Ashby Pool). He died 11 Oct. 1867
in Monong.Co. (a part of southern Monong. Co. went to Marion County wh
that county was later established). A note that was given to me indicat
that George and Jane Snider are buried in a "family plot - hill, back of
Christian Church-Hagan's"?. H.B left a will that is in Fiduc. Vol 7, P373.
Est.Rec.1-262 & 2-169. in Morgantown. I have not seen this will. A deed on
22 April, 1820 between Jane Wilson Wid.of HB, their children and John Knox
listed all of the children. George was the last one to sign off on this on
25 Oct. 1830.in Monong. Co.
Va. Jane & HB always lived in Monong. Co. Va., a part of that time w
part of the land that was claimed by Azariah Thomas Hoskinson, her father.
This land led to an extensive court case that went on for several years that
involved Jane's mother Mary, and Jane's brothers and sisters as well as Jane
and HB. I think the 1850 census showing George's birthplace as Va. is
correct. H.B. was Capt. in 76th Regmt-2nd rifle Co. 1802 in Monong.Co. I
hope that this data is of some help in your research into the Wilson family.
If I can be of further help drop me an E mail. R.J. (Bob) Hoskins, Raleigh,
NC.
